How to play Gamestimate

Every day, 5 real numbers from the video game industry. Set your estimate on the slider, lock it in, and see how close you got.

The daily mission

• 5 targets a day, the same for everyone. A new mission drops at midnight, New York time (ET).
• 30 seconds per target, one shot each.
• Multipliers rise: ×1, ×1, ×2, ×3, ×3, for 1,000 points max.

Scoring

Up to 100 points per target. We count the multiplicative gap: being off by ×1.25 gives 90 points, ×2 gives 70, ×5 gives 30, ×10 gives 0. Review scores and years are scored on the absolute gap.

Verdicts

PERFECT (95–100), GREAT (80–94), GOOD (50–79), MISS (1–49), WIPE (0).

Leaderboards, ranks and squads

• Daily and weekly leaderboards, friends and squads (private groups with an invite link). Signed-in players only.
• Rank points after each mission: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, then Legend.
• Streak, a collection of cartridges to complete, and 30 days of archive to replay.

Where do the numbers come from?

Public sources (publisher reports, court filings, press, SteamCharts, HowLongToBeat, Metacritic), each with its date and scope.
